West Virginia themed glass project begins

Looking over some of the templates that other teachers have drawn for this project, I am anxious to see how everything turns out for everyone.

For my project I am using a picture that I took at Blackwater Fall in early summer.  I sketched it out and added some color to get a feel for different colors I would need.  I traced a copy of my template on sketch paper so I can cut out each piece.  Unlike the first project the glass I will be using for this project is more opaque and difficult to the pattern through it.

This is initial sketch for my project.  I did add some straight line to create smaller pieces to deal with.

Then after redrawing it I numbered my pieces, only 34 pieces for this one.
Then started to cut out my traced template, will begin to cut glass next Wednesday.

  1. Another person in our class suggested that I laminate my pattern to protect the paper. I have found it works.

  2. I love the way you designed your piece. I think you did a very nice job simplifying the picture while still keeping the sections fluid and natural. Looking forward to seeing the finished project.
